The one store, where I've been buying my art supplies for as long as I can remember had to close shop. It just couldn't make ends meet. It's weird though. The store was a biggish local name, it supplied schools and an art academy, and yet still it couldn't keep from going under.

One of the salespersons there told me it couldn't cope with larger art and office supply retail chains. Also, it was located in a city, which didn't make it very accessible. She said we needn't worry, because she got a job at a nearby retail chain which uses the same suppliers.

But still...

Last weekend I went to F.A.C.T.S. in Ghent, which is like a fantasy animé something other something convention. I guess it's like a miniature Comic-con version of the Benelux. But boy was that place crowded. Lots of fun taking pictures of cosplayers. I'm not going to upload too many of'm here, though.

I finally met ~Yncke at that convention, wich was awesome. Funny thing is, I had no idea what this person looked like, but I managed to "identify via artwork".

The whole thing did kind of spurred me back into the saddle for drawing and stuff. Although I'm still just "redigesting" older work. It'll get better. I have spurs in my ass now.

I don't know what happened, but the last few months, I had serious artist block. 't Wasn't as if I couldn't draw no more, but all I kept on turning out was turd...I actually found myself pulling all nighters, just plain copying work from artists that I like. I usually go nuts when I can just do pencil sketches, but even those turned out shit.

I've had this before, but never this long. I think I kind of shook this dry spell when a little voice (or six) kept on telling me to stop drawing stuff that I didn't like. I mean, I've met publishers who've said the same thing to me: Don't do that, you'll feel miserable doing that, do your stuff with a fantasy critters and the lot, you like that.

So it's not only the voices in my head that are always right, maybe publishers hear them too...
